Principles of People Management
Managing people properly is the most crucial aspect of being a manager. It will result in improved performance for the manager and the team and bring better results to your organisation. The challenge, however, is in being a good manager. A manager may perform well in their own core responsibilities but that does not automatically mean that they will be good at people management.
Being a good manager requires a range of people skills including effective communication skills, the ability to build teams, good delegation skills, diplomacy in handling conflict and difficult situations, the ability to motivate, set objectives and standards and maintain them.
People skills help managers to deal with colleagues effectively and be aware of their own behaviour too. These skills make the difference between building effective relationships with people and co-existing. This course aims to assist delegates in improving their people skills.
